The Healing Well at Mallikpur (near Kolkata)
Recently I visited the famous Healing Well at Mallikpur in South 24 Parganas District of West Bengal. All of us in our family believe in it very strongly and I had last visited it as a kid in 1982. For a long time, my Mom was wishing to visit this Healing Well. So we planned a trip in which we got together at Kolkata and then travelled from Kolkata to Mallikpur.

The story behind the Healing Well goes like this. The Sufi Saint was travelling through different places of India and he came to Mallikpur to spread the message of Love and Peace. The local people told him about the problems that they are facing with shortage of water. Through his insight, he could find out the source of water for them. He pointed out a place to them, where, he said that if they dig, they will find water. Not believing him but at the same time not wanting to displease him they started digging and they were rewarded with water.
